April 2024

April has already been a busy month with both Rio and Wyatt leaving us on trial at their new homes.
Both of their new families have already had puppies from us in the past.
Wyatt joins Andie, who, at almost 14 years old, is a daughter of *Khayem Fasko (IID) AZ
Rio joins Tempe's 4 year old brother Gus as his new partner in crime 🙂
While we already miss them both, we know that they have gone to excellent Khayem families and will have wonderful lives.

At Easter, we attended the GSDL Easter Championship show under judge Mr Nestor Descalzi (Argentina)
Samira - Khayem Wizja - 4th Baby Puppy Bitch, graded Very Promising, at her first show
Chani - Swartzlic Meine Charlie AZ - 8th Intermediate Bitch and graded Very Good
Renzo - *Khayem Revelation ET AZ - 5th Open Dog and graded Excellent
A great result for Chani, now "up with the big kids", after an absence of 8 months from the show ring

We also showed Chani's brother Cash - Swartzlic Meine Cash AZ, on behalf of his owner Sharon Hargreaves, to 3rd Intermediate Dog, graded Very Good. Our thanks to Juan for showing him and Greg Jones for his hospitality and preparation of Cash for the show.

Just days before we were to celebrate her 13th birthday, Sassy suddenly left us, breaking our hearts again and leaving another huge gap in our lives.
Never sick a day in her life, it was such a shock and absolutely devastating.
Farewell our gorgeous girl, thank you for everything. See you again, always in our hearts.

September 2023 - Europe

For the 6th time, we travelled to Germany for the Sieger Show and to visit Olymp kids and grandkids. What a trip!
Not only were we there to watch Olymp's son *Calvados vom Holtkamper Hof take out the VA4 in the Long Stock Coat Working males class
but we were able to spend time with his stock coat brother, Chapeau, and some of Chapeau's kids, at the home of Olymp's breeder, Vincent Buss.

We also travelled to Amsterdam to catch up with Olymp daughter, Talyta aus Famke's Zauberwald, at the home of her breeders Wilma and Olav.

So exciting to be able to see the super quality of Olymp's grandkids - his bloodline is safe in Europe!

On a beautiful, warm, sunny winter day, our beloved Vesper left us to join her mother Lilli, other family members, and best friend Fergus, jumping running and spinning over rainbow bridge.
Devastated doesn't even come close to how we feel.

Cash is the litter brother to our own Chani.

A very special milestone for us, with the Khayem F litter celebrating their 15th birthday on the 13th of June.
These pups were imported in dam, travelling with their mum Lilli all the way from Germany in 2008!
There are at least 2 of this litter surviving to celebrate their 15th birthdays - Nikki and Ida.
Happy birthday to our gorgeous kids 🙂

We also received news of another hip and elbow assessment result for Olymp daughter, Ch. Alezan Temptation
with hip scores of (4,5) and elbow scores of (0,0) through the ANKC CHEDS scheme, assessed by Dr Lavelle.

May 2023 - 49th National Show & Trial

Our biggest show of the year was held in Melbourne in May and we really look forward to it.
We rent a lovely house with a huge yard for the dogs and we have a great, if exhausting, time away!
This year our little team of 3 achieved the following results under judges Mrs Heather MacDonald (Scotland) - Dogs
and Mr Malcolm Griffiths (Columbia) - Bitches :

Under Mrs Susan Belfield, a specialist UK judge from the famous Kassieger Kennels, we attained the following results:

Under Mr Tony Gibson (specialist judge from New Zealand), we achieved:
Swartzlic Meine Charlie, "Chani" - 2nd Baby Puppy Bitch graded Very Promising
Renzo - *Khayem Revelation ET AZ placed 3rd Open Dog, graded Excellent

Our sincere thanks to our 2 judges for judging in awful weather and ground conditions
and to our 2 handlers, Paris and Mel Turoczy, for handling in very trying ground conditions where it was hard to just stay upright!

August 2022

Swartzlic Meine Charlie, "Chani", had her first show at only 15 weeks old (and youngest in the class of 4), at the GSDL State Breed Assessment
under specialist judge Mrs Natalie Humphries (WA), where she was placed 2nd Baby Puppy Bitch and graded Very Promising!

Chani worked like an old experienced pro, she really loves the show ring, just like her dad Olymp. Thanks again to Mel for handling our new baby.

While Olymp wasn't shown in his class, he did accompany Paris Turoczy in her Junior Handler class where they finished in 1st place!

July 2022

On the 7th January 2021, our new German import, *Olymp vom Larchenhain, finally arrived into Quarantine. To say we were relieved is an understatement. After an uneventful stay of 10 days, Olymp was released on the 17th January and flew to Sydney where he finally joined our family 🙂
Our thanks and gratitude to our good friend, Alastair Henderson, for looking after Olymp in Quarantine when we could not get there due to COVID border closures.

*Khayem Premonition AZ - "Paige" - gives birth to 6 male puppies by Sensen Mann Yokon (imp Germany) on the 7th July. This is the Khayem "S" litter. Unfortunately, as there are no girls in the litter, we have not retained a puppy. Our result at the GSDL State Breed Assessment under Mrs Fay Stokes: *Khayem Revelation AZ - "Renzo" - 3rd Open Dog, Excellent We were very excited that Fay promoted Renzo behind 2 older dogs with progeny, to show her belief in him as a future sire. He was only just old enough to be in the class and was the youngest by 2 years. This was his first time in Open. Renzo's critique: "64 – 29 - 2 years - Medium size, medium strong, richly pigmented dog of very good type and slightly stretched proportions, very good head and expression, dark masking and eyes, very good length of neck into high wither, firm back and well placed croup, very good fore and hindquarter angulation, very good forechest development for age and very good underline, stands correct and steps correct. Displays very good effortless movement with very good ground cover and very free reach. Off Lead – Shows very good movement maintaining his outline."

In April we attended the 46th National Show & Trial in Adelaide. We were very fortunate to have the company of our overseas friends, Martina Anastasi and Daniel Olsen from Spain. Mixed and strange results for us this year, very pleased with our Rio, handled by Marti, she really loves the ring, like her mum Sassy. The result for Renzo was disappointing and perplexing being so out of line with his previous results, but that's showing! In May we attended the 45th National Show and Trial in Brisbane. In May we attended the 43rd National Show and Trial in Melbourne. Despite attrocious weather, we had a great time catching up with interstate and overseas friends and had pleasing results: *Khayem Juul AZ - 20th Open Bitch, Excellent (61 bitches in the ring, called out 24th) *Khayem Je Ne Sais Quoi AZ - 22nd Open Bitch, Excellent (61 bitches in the ring, called out 14th) Our thanks to our good friend, Cassie Booth, for handling Sassy in Open Bitch and doing a great job, even with the 2 girls being right next to each other at one stage! We also had awesome accommodation with a wonderful house 15 minutes from the grounds that welcomed our dogs inside and had a huge fenced yard for them to run around in. We'll be back to stay again!

May 2014

In May we attended the 42nd National Show and Trial in Canberra. We had a great time with old and new friends. Our very good friend, Martina Anastasi from vom Goldenen Strand kennels in Italy, came to Australia for the National and to handle our dogs. We spent a week after the National playing tourist with Marti and had a fantastic time! At the show, Dogs were judged by Herr Joachim Stiegler (SV Germany) and Bitches by Herr Frank Goldlust (SV Germany). Our results: *Khayem Je Ne Sais Quoi AZ - 21st Open Bitch, Excellent (68 bitches in the ring) *Khayem Guinan AZ - 48th Open Bitch, Excellent (68 bitches in the ring) Khayem Monogramm - 3rd Puppy Dog, Very Promising (8 dogs in the ring) Khayem Missandei - 13th Puppy Bitch, Very Promising (29 bitches in the ring) - congratulations to Daniel Lahnor Khayem Magische - 2nd Puppy Bitch LSC, Very Promising (5 bitches in the ring) - congratulations to Vivienne and Michael Drummond. Congratulations also to Bossface kennels for the results of their progeny from *Khayem Galina AZ and to Treuschutzer kennels on the results of their *Khayem Jaegermeister AZ daughters. Thank you to the ACTGSDC for putting on a memorable National. The weather was also perfect all 3 days and we had very nice accommodation at Eaglehawk.

In May we attended the 41st National Show and Trial in Adelaide. We had a great time with old and new friends, met some lovely dogs and saw our main man Kwint for, sadly, the last time. We were also lucky enough to hire some wonderful, dog friendly accommodation in a house about 30 minutes from the grounds at West Beach. Dogs were judged by Herr Richard Brauch (SV Germany) and Bitches by Herr Christoph Ludwig (SV Germany). We have received the Hip and Elbow results for Khayem Karbon - Hunter - A (2,2) Z (1,0). A huge congratulations to Hunter's marvelous owner, Tracey Lewis. Hunter's Elbow score was less than 0.5mm. Hunter is an active member of the GSDL Demo Team and he will be Breed Surveyed in 2014.

The 40th National Show & Trial was held at Hunter Valley Gardens, Pokolbin on 18th/19th/20th May. The weather was perfect and the venue outstanding! Judges were Herr Scheerer (SV Germany) - Bitches and Herr Wörner (SV Germany) - Dogs. We had a great time with good friends and were very pleased with our results: Khayem Karbon Kopy - 14th Very Promising Baby Puppy Bitch (from 31 exhibited). This was Aspen's first time in the ring and she thoroughly enjoyed herself! Khayem Karbonite - 14th Very Promising Baby Puppy Dog (from 16 exhibited) Khayem Je Ne Sais Quio AZ - 13th Very Good Junior Bitch (from 32 exhibited) Khayem Jaegermeister AZ - 5th Very Good Junior Dog (from 12 exhibited) * Khayem Guinan AZ - 21st Excellent Open Bitch (from 47 exhibited) We were honoured that Khayem Jaegermeister AZ was asked to lead his sire Kwint's progeny group at the National. We are looking forward now to the 41st National in Adelaide in 2013. We received the Hip and Elbow results for Khayem Janeika AZ - A (2,2) Z (0,0) and Khayem Juul AZ - A (2,3) Z (0,0). Outstanding results yet again for Lilli vom Trompetersprung (imp Gmy). These girls are the 12th and 13th of Lilli's progeny to be assessed and the 12th and 13th to receive the A and Z stamps with low scores.

We have received the Hip and Elbow results for: Khayem Jugernaut - Jimmi - A (2,3) Z (0,0) and Khayem Je Ne Sais Quoi - Sassy - A (2,2) Z (0,0) Excellent Hip and Elbow results for our Kwint/Lilli pups. This is now 10 A and Z stamps that Lilli has produced in 3 litters. As at 4.3.12, we have 2 normal coat males for sale. Here are photos of these pups at 10 weeks old: Tiger at 10 weeks. Tiger is an active, bold, outgoing puppy. He would be suitable for an experienced family with teenagers or an active person/couple. He would also excel in Obedience or Agility. Frisco at 10 weeks. Frisco is a quieter, more "serious", affectionate puppy. He would be suitable for an older person/couple or an experienced family with younger children.

22nd December 2011 - we welcomed our litter, from our girl Dallas - *Khayem Estrella AZ BSCL1, by our imported boy Fasko - *Khayem Fasko (IID Gmy) AZ BSCL1. 6 boys and 1 girl, all doing well. There will be male puppies available for sale from this litter. Puppies will be able to go to their new homes from 18th February 2012. We were busy with 2 shows on the 10th December, with good results in both with good company and a very pleasant day. On the 18th September, Khayem Guinan AZ - "Vesper" - was awarded Breed Survey Class 1 under Reg Bonello at the survey at Newcastle. We are very pleased and proud of our girl. Vesper is the 4th of Lilli's progeny to attain BSCL1, from 2 litters.

Khayem Galina AZ - "Phoebe" - achieves Breed Survey Class 1 under Fay Stokes at the Newcastle survey. Congratulations to her owners - Mick and Ez Theris and Craig Hendrickse. Phoebe is the first of the Lilli/Cayos litter to go through survey. Khayem Jaegermeister - "Otchum" has his first show and is awarded Baby Puppy In Show, judge Mrs T. Buckley (NSW). *Khayem Fraya (IID) AZ - "Noodge" - is awarded her first Excellent grading on her first time in the Open class, under Fran Farley. Our lovely gelding, Aallusion - "Al" has been sold and will join our mare CU in Northern NSW. We look forward to his career under saddle with great interest!

Also, Khayem Janeika - "Pippa" has joined her half sister Khayem Genevieve AZ in the home of Tracey and Ken Hill. Khayem Jaegermeister - "Otchum" will also be shown by newcomers Stef and Blake. 39th National Show & Trial 22, 23, 24 April 2011 Sydney

We had a great show with Khayem Guinan AZ - "Vesper" - placing 4th Very Good Junior Bitch from 27 exhibits and Khayem Highland Heart - "Duncan" - placing 11th Very Promising Puppy Dog, youngest in the class of 23 exhibits (called out 9th). Congratulations to our friends Andrew and Cheryl Thor and John Hugo, on attaining the Silver Medal with *Narathor Jazzcinta AZ - "Ruby". We have started a new tradition of the Saturday Seafood Buffet with our friends, that was very yummy! Looking forward to the 40th National to be held in Pokolbin, May 2012

Vesper is the third of the Cayos/Lilli litter to be assessed and the eighth for Lilli overall. Congratulations to Michael and Ez Theris and Craig Hendrickse on the excellent hip and elbow results of Khayem Galina - Phoebe. Phoebe scored A (2,2) and Z (0,0). She is the second of the Cayos/Lilli progeny to be assessed and the seventh for Lilli overall.

Khayem Genevieve (Diva) owned by Tracey and Ken Hill, attains her A and Z stamps for hips and elbows with the wonderful scores of A (0,3) and Z (0,0). Congratulations to Tracey and Ken! Turnberry Shirley AZ BSCL1 is confirmed in whelp to *Khayem Erasmus AZ BSCL1. Puppies will be due around 15th July. We are very excited about this litter as we have been planning it for 2 years! These will be the first puppies for Fergus and we are very much looking forward to meeting them! They will be line-bred on Turnberry Smart Cookie, Turnberry Nicolette, Bedwins Siegaro, Troy von der Noriswand and also carry Turnberry Honda and Bedwins Siegfreud.

38th National Show & Trial 30 April, 1st and 2nd May 2010 Melbourne

Wow, what a successful show we had! Khayem attained the following results at the 38th National: From 32 Baby Puppy Bitches exhibited, judged by Herr Hans-Ludger Göke (SV Germany): 3rd Very Promising Baby Puppy Bitch - Khayem Guinan - Vesper 6th Very Promising Baby Puppy Bitch - Khayem Galina (owned by Hendrickse/Theris) 7th Very Promising Baby Puppy Bitch - Khayem Genevieve (owned by T. Hill) From 25 Intermediate Dogs exhibited, judged by Herr Frank Goldlust (SV Germany): 15th Very Good Intermediate Dog - * Khayem Erasmus AZ - Fergus We were also honoured to receive the GSDCA Bronze Medal for having bred more than 10 animals that have achieved the A stamp for hips. Overall, a very successful and enjoyable show for us and also for many of our friends, with NSW breeders and dogs being well represented in the top placings. We now look forward to the 39th National Show and Trial to be held in Sydney, April 2011.

Khayem Fraya (IID) - Noodge - hip and elbow scores have come back with the fabulous result of (0,3) hips and (0,0) elbows. Noodge is the fifth of Lilli's puppies to be assessed and achieve the A and Z stamps with low scores. Khayem Guinan is awarded Baby Puppy of Breed at the County of Cumberland Kennel Association Championship Show, by Mr K Brown (NZ). On the 11th April, our 2 boys went to Canberra for Breed Survey and both Khayem Fasko - Fasko and Khayem Erasmus - Fergus attained BSCL1 under John Hugo. Our thanks to our friend Denise Smith for coming down with us to handle Fasko, your help is forever appreciated. On the 8th April, we suddenly lost Sierra - Dezignerz Standing Order, at age 11. She was never sick a day in her life and she passed away peacefully at home with Lilli at her side. Her loss is burning a hole in my heart every second. Together now with the beautiful Holly and her old mate Kara. Khayem Guinan - Vesper - places 6th Very Promising in Baby Puppy Bitch at the GSDL Easter Show under SV judge, Margit van Dorssen of Germany. Khayem Erasmus - Fergus - places 10th Very Good in Intermediate Dog at the GSDL Easter Show under SV judge, Margit van Dorssen of Germany.

Khayem Guinan - Vesper - places 1st in Baby Puppy Bitch at the Newcastle & Hunter Region GSD Club Breed Assessment Show under Barry O'Rourke. Khayem Galina - Phoebe (owned by Therris/Hendrickse) - places 6th in the same class. The next day, at the Newcastle & Hunter Region GSD Club Championship Show, Khayem Galina places 1st and Khayem Guinan places 2nd under Carol O'Rourke. Fantastic results for our babies, congrats to Craig, Cheree, Michael and Ez - Phoebe looked stunning! Congratulations to Tracey on her 5th Baby Puppy Bitch with Khayem Genevieve - Diva at the GSDCV State Breed Assessment, under Greg Green. This is both Tracey and Diva's first specialty show! Also congratulations for their result at their very first show ever, Baby of Breed, at Tallangatta All Breeds.

She is the third puppy from Lilli's litter to Fasko d'Ulmental to be assessed and return very low scores. Lilli whelps 11 puppies by Cayos von der Noriswand. There are 4 males and 7 females. Khayem Freyda (IID) - Ida, owned by Duel Purpose kennels, is the first of Lilli's puppies to be assessed for hips and elbows. She has achieved the fantastic scores of (1,1) hips and (0,0) elbows! Our thanks to Kris and Brendan for the care that they have taken of Ida and the faith that they have shown in these lines. Khayem Feli (IID) - Feli, is the second of Lilli's pups to be assessed for hips and elbows and achieves the scores of (1,3) hips and (0,0) elbows. Another great result! Lilli is confirmed pregnant to Cayos von der Noriswand (imp Germany). The puppies will be due at the start of November.

August 2009

Fergus attends the GSDL State Breed Assessment and is shown for the first time in the Junior Dog class, where he is called out third but finishes 5th after tiring. We are very pleased with him as he was only entered to be in the progeny group of his father, Andacht Don Pedro, and we decided at the last minute to put him into his actual class. We think he has a bright future with some training!

June 2009

We took a trip to the National in Brisbane, but due to loss of coat, Lilli and Fasko were not shown. Noodge was shown 5 days into Junior Bitch and her first show for 7 months and was graded Very Good despite not wanting to be in the ring at all! We also got to catch up with Peter, Janine and Monty - it was great to see our boy so happy and he fell "in love" with Noodge!

Fasko is the half brother of 2007 Sieger Pakros d'Ulmental. He is sired by Xaro d'Ulmental and his mother is the 2002 Siegerin Karma vom Ochsentor. Our thanks to Frank Borowski for his effort in making this litter possible and being prepared to put in a 12 hour drive for us to get the dog we wanted for Lilli!
